ANKA’s operational and core program funding is provided by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, the Department of Communication and the Arts and the Northern Territory Government through Arts NT. Project funding is provided by a range of Government, philanthropic and corporate partners. ANKA is very grateful for this support. ANKA is also a member of the Indigenous Art Commercial Code of Conduct.
The two longest standing and largest Indigenous art peak bodies nationally today, ANKA and Desart, share origins in the same organisation Arnhem, Northern and Central Artists Aboriginal Association (ANCAAA), started in 1987. Today both are part of a national group of Indigenous art peak bodies.
Additional to ANKA, these are (in order of longevity):
Desart (NT, SA, WA)
Ku Arts (SA)
UMI Arts (QLD)
IACA – Indigenous Art Centre Alliance (QLD)
AACHWA – Aboriginal Art Centre Hub (WA)
ANKA has longstanding strong partnerships with a wide range of industry bodies and arts institutions nationally and internationally. Established and emerging partnerships extend ANKA’s reach and are crucial to achieving its mission.
ANKA’s work would not be possible without strong partnerships with a wide range of industry partners, working together with other Indigenous Corporations, NFP, government and private sector funders.
