About

The Yawuru people are the traditional owners of the country in and around Broome in the Kimberley, WA. 'Nagula Jarndu' means Saltwater Woman in Yawuru language. Nagula Jarndu is a women’s Art Centre in Broome producing contemporary and unique textile lengths and textile products. Many of the artists who work with Nagula Jarndu are Yawuru, and many are from varied cultural and language groups, giving diversity to the textiles, visually sharing stories and descriptions of their country or their grandmothers’ country.
